High-Quality Ready-Mix Concrete for Construction Projects in NI, ROI, and the UK

When it comes to construction, nothing sets the stage for a successful build like high-quality readymix concrete. The right concrete mix for construction keeps projects moving smoothly; the wrong mix can halt progress, create uncertainty, and lead to costly delays. At McGarrity Bros. Ltd., we deliver concrete that works exactly as your crew expects: accurate batching, dependable strength classes, ... More

OUR EXPERIENCE IN READY MIX CONCRETE

Concrete You Can Rely On, Experience That Works on Site

Since 1958, McGarrity Bros. Ltd. has worked closely with contractors, engineers, and self-builders across the region. That history has shaped how we batch, test, and transport our ready mix concrete. That is why every load we deliver is prepared with:

  • Even flow and easy levelling
  • Reinforcement-friendly mixes
  • Accurate quantities to avoid delays
  • Strength development that meets drawings and specifications

Our team advises on selecting the correct concrete grade, aggregate size, and any admixtures needed for curing conditions, placement methods, or reinforcement requirements. Because batching is completed off-site, your concrete delivery arrives with the precise proportions needed for your build. This reduces the risk of poor on-site mixing and ensures that foundations, slabs, and structural pours meet design requirements.

Every pour has its own needs

Choosing the Right Ready Mixed Concrete Grade for Every Project

Every grade is designed with the task in mind, so your crew can place, finish, and dry with certainty. Unsure which grade fits? McGarrity Bros Ltd. can walk you through the options and find the concrete mix that works best for your construction project.

C8/10N

Perfect for blinding house floors, filling cavities, or mass fill. A solid base that keeps the work above it stable.

C12/15N

Ideal for trench fill, paving steps and paths, blinding, and haunching. Reliable for general groundwork and smaller structural tasks.

C16/20N

Used for strip footings, under-paving for patios, foundations, and subfloors. Strong enough to take the weight without fuss.

C16/20N 10mm s/dry + retarder

Standard kerbmix concrete for setting and backing kerbs. Optional retarder lets you slow the set when needed.

C20/25N

Lightly reinforced house or garage floors, or infill for insulated concrete formwork (ICF). Perfect for residential loads.

C25/30N

Works well for lightly reinforced concrete, internal floors that see light foot or trolley traffic, and reinforced foundations.

C28/35N

Strong enough for general and agricultural reinforced concrete, floors in livestock or crop stores, domestic garages used as workshops, and laneways or driveways.

C32/40N

Built for wearing traffic in general industrial settings. Durable and dependable.

C35/45N

For medium industrial use where heavier loads and frequent traffic demand extra strength.

C40/50N

Heavy-duty industrial concrete for sites subject to extreme wear and weight.

Sand and cement

Ideal for paving screeds or finished floor screeds. Gives a smooth, level surface ready for use.

Key Structural Differences

Admixtures That Make Every Pour Easier

No two pours are identical. Weather, placement method, distance from the plant, and reinforcement all influence performance.  Our approved admixtures help your concrete behave exactly as needed:

Fibres/steel fibres

Improve tensile strength and help reduce surface cracking.

Note: Fibres are not a substitute for structural reinforcement.

WRA–water reducing agent

Enhance strength and reduce the risk of segregation and bleeding.

Plasticisers

Increase workability for easier placement while reducing shrinkage and thermal cracking.

Retarding agents

Slow setting time for hot weather, challenging placements, or long-distance deliveries.

Accelerators

Speed up setting in cold conditions or where early strength is required.

Each admixture is incorporated during batching for even distribution, ensuring consistent performance across the load.

Adaptable for Any Project

Concrete Sealers and Protection for Long-Lasting Surfaces

To maximise the lifespan of newly poured yards, slabs, and floors, we recommend applying a concrete sealer shortly after finishing techniques like brushing or power floating. Our sealer:

Cures and seals concrete in a single application.

Provides additional resistance to weathering, freeze-thaw conditions, and surface wear.

Is supplied in 25L containers, with 1L covering approximately 5–8 m².

Important considerations: Do not apply after saw-cutting and avoid washing newly poured concrete with high-pressure methods until fully cured. This ensures your surface maintains strength and durability over time.

LEADING CONCRETE SUPPLIERS

Quality Concrete Supply Across Northern Ireland, ROI, and the UK

Our fleet delivers ready mix concrete to sites of every size, from small residential pours to farm sheds, roadworks, warehouse floors, and large concrete slabs for commercial and industrial projects. Every concrete delivery is dispatched with careful scheduling so that contractors can plan labour, plant, and finishing work around the delivery window.

We understand how quickly conditions change on site, especially for large pours, tight access areas, or foundation work. Every load is scheduled carefully so teams can plan labour, plant, and finishing around the delivery window.

Consistent slump, predictable strength development, and reliable workability mean faster placement, smoother setting, and fewer site issues.
